Default Word 2003 - Table of Contents

Formating a TOC without having the option to use the reference option. The
orginial is a large document that is hard copy. It doesn't have a table of
contents.

And your question is? I suspect I can guess, though: see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/NumberAlignment.htm

Also, note that even if you can't use the automatic TOC feature, you can
still use the built-in TOC styles for your entries. Those will give you a
head start toward the formatting you need.
