Default balancing endnotes in columns

I have endnotes in three columns. I want to evenly balance the 3 columns at
the top of the page so that I can begin a new article under them. I have
tried inserting a continuous section break like you do with text columns, but
the break option is greyed out just after the endnotes, and if I insert it
after the main text, the endnote columns do not balance. Any suggestions?

Hi Susan,

You could try this:
Add a (continuous?) section break right after your first section.
Set the new (second) section to three columns.
Suppress endnotes for the first section (File Page setup Layout).

Klaus

I tried this and it did balance the endnote columns, but it also duplicated
enough of the endnotes from a second article several pages later to fill up
the page. I couldn't make the duplicate endnotes go away. I think I am just
going to have to completely reorganize the newsletter unless anyone else has
a suggestion.
