Default How to customize highighting colors

I would like to use colors other than those included in the standard
highlighting tool. All except the yellow color print so darkly on my printer,
that the highlighted text is hard to read. Is there any way to add new colors
to the highlighting tool? I am using MS Word 2007.

What you see is all you get. As an alternative, you could create a new
character style--selecting the desired shading--and use it to accomplish
highlighting. But, you would not be able to use the highlighting tool to
apply the style.
