Default how to create cells in table using if statements in word

I am trying to create a table in word using data from a data source. I am
wondering if there is a way to create a new row in the table only if there is
data to be entered in that row. Is there some statement or some way to only
add the new row to the table based on the results from an IF statement?

Unfortunately, as soon as you try to use an IF field to insert a table row,
you get an extra paragraph mark which breaks up the table. Worse, empty
paragraphs between table rows are remarkably difficult to remove either
using Edit|Replace or even VBA macros.

Possible approaches depend on what exactly you're trying to achieve. if
you're just trying to insert one table, Insert|Database may be enough. If
you're trying to do a merge with "multiple items per condition", Word isn't
designed to do it and you might be better off using Access reporting or some
such. But see for example:
