Word 2002: Forms and Form Controls
I have Word 2002 on the computer at my new job. I'm trying to convert their
form documents into actual forms, so they can just tab through the form fields and fill them in. (Thus saving me trouble fixing things later!) The problem is, some of the choices in the makeshift forms are complicated. On a number of documents, there are optional or "choose one" phrases, often with blank dates inside the phrases. While I am a proficient Word user, I'm not experienced with form controls, and I have no knowledge of Visual Basic. Can someone help me out? Is it even possible to nest form fields like that? Thank you! |

Word 2002: Forms and Form Controls
What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFl...nesInForms.htm. For the choose one problem, look into mutually-exclusive text boxes. You can put additional text fields in the choices for filling in dates, etc. Hope this helps, -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
