[TP[_2_]]

When I mail merge a date from an Excel 2003 spreadsheet to a MS Word 2003
document, it switches from dd-mm-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy format. eg 18-03-2009
merges as 03-18-2009. Both the Excel and Word programs have their language
set at English (Australia), although the Word Language box has both English
(Australia) and English (US) listed, with English (Australia) set as the
default.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the date to show in the correct
format, dd-mm-yyyy?

Thanks Doug. i had a look at the information on the website that you
directed me to. Unfortunately, it meant nothing to me. I was hoping for a
simple solution!

I thought that if I could delete the English (US) from the language box,
leaving only English (Australia) it may help. But I don't know how to do
that.

I have performed the same mail merge in the past without this problem, so I
don't know why it's appearing now.

Maybe, I'll have to type the dates (in Excel) in text format!

Hi. I checked through a few other posts, on this site and found the solution
at:

In MS Word 2003 change one of the Word options settings i.e. Tools
Options General Confirm conversion on open. (tick the "Confirm conversion
on open" box).

When you select the data source, when connecting to an Excel data file, a
"Confirm Data Source box appears, from which you should select DDE, whereupon
the the date will be merged in its correct format.

Worked for me.
