How can I put Spanish and French accents using a laptop? "Alt + (a number)"
doesn't work here. Thank you for your help.

Use the Fn key on your laptop to turn on Num lk and then use the numbers
that are overlaid on the m, j,k,l,u,i,o,7,8,9 keys.

Word has built-in keyboard shortcuts for all these characters. See
