Default Disabling Tracking Changes Problem

My Word has suddenly decided I should track changes on every document. I
don't want to track changes, but whatever I do to try and shut it off
doesn't work. Tools/Track Changes does nothing. "Help" hasn't helped
either.

How do I get it disabled, and stay disabled?
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
Thx

Dave

In such stubborn cases, it maybe necessary to open Normal.dot itself and
turn it off (if it's on). If you don't know how to find or open Normal.dot,
see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm
