what Unicode character for multiplication symbol like x?
I can't find the character, like a non-serif X, in the Symbols drop-down: is
it there somewhere? |

what Unicode character for multiplication symbol like x?
This is available in the Verdana font, or Alt+0215 You can also use the

The multiplication symbol is at character 00D7 (Unicode) or 0215 (ASCII).
You can insert it in any of a number of ways (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm). If you use it frequently, you may want to assign a shortcut key, which is easily done from the Insert | Symbol dialog (I use Ctrl+Shift+X). -- Suzanne S.
