Default Why is there a back to front P when I press return key?

Why is there a back to front P when I press return key?

As soon as I start woed, the back to front p is already typed in. and after
i press the return key, another is added in.

I tried to copy and paste, but the symbol wont even copy.

Many thanks for replies and help.

This is the character indicating a new line - it's just showing the
formatting for you, and it won't show on the document when you print it. You
can switch the display of these characters off by using Tools - Options, and
clicking the View tab. Under the "Formatting Marks" section, make sure that
all boxes are unchecked.

Hope this helps

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm for information
on why you might sometimes find it helpful to see nonprinting characters or
formatting marks.
