Where did the "drag to create" table option go?
With my previous version of Word, I was able to click on the table icon, and
drag, right near the icon to the size (# of rows & columns) I wanted. (Note: I am not referring to the "draw table" command) With Word 2003, clicking on the icon opens up the "insert table" dialogue window, and the numbers of rows and columns have to be typed in. I find this slower and more awkward than the way it used to be. Is there any setting I can customize to bring back this table feature I really liked? Thanks! |

The command you're looking for is called TableInsertGeneral under All
Commands in the Customize dialog (as opposed to Insert Table... in the Table category). Substituting that for the button you have should solve the problem. -- Suzanne S. Well, neither would I, probably, especially since for some reason I haven't
had this exact problem, but I read the solution here (like most of the rest of the answers I provide). -- Suzanne S.
