How do I turn off the automatic today's date feature in Word?
I'm using 2003. In Word, if I pull up a .doc, it automatically has today's
date on it -- I haven't inserted a date field so this is strictly automatic. I haven't been able to find how to turn this off on the Auto- features. Help!! I can't tell what the date was on the original document! |

How do I turn off the automatic today's date feature in Word?
If it has today's date, then it does contain a DATE field. Press Alt+F9 to
display the field code and change DATE (or TIME) to CREATEDATE, then Alt+F9 to toggle back and F9 to update. -- Suzanne S. I just tried what you suggested and, yes, there's a field. How can I change

Assuming you're basing the documents on a specific template, change the
