Default wdb?

I have been sent an e-mail with a document attached. This is noted "wdb"
rather than "doc". How do I read this, please?

Default wdb?

I guess the obvious thing you should do is ask the sender what
kind of a file it is. A .wdb file could be a Microsoft Works
database file, which Word cannot open.
