Default Text overlay

I was working in an existing Word document, and when i went to print it out,
all of my text moved - it is now in a vertical line down the left margin of
the page - overlayed one character on top of the other. When i look at the
text through the Reading Layout, everything is still there. I would really
like to fix this problem. I hope someone can help me out.

This sounds like a case of document corruption; question is, at what level...

If you Ctrl+A, shift+LeftArrow. Then Edit/Copy. Create a new document and
Edit/Paste. Is the text now "readable"?
