Default table of contents

Hello,
Is there a way to take some text and not have it show up in the TOC.
Without changing the heading.
For instance highlight it and set something?
thanks

Probably. Give us a better description of the text, what you want to
include, what you want to omit.

Lets say I have a Heading 1. and a really long text. But lets say I would
like only the first one or 2 words in the TOC. Is there a way to highlight
the other words and set it to something?
Without changing the Heading 1 of the words?
