Words with red underlining...
Right-click on the Spelling and Grammar Status icon on the status bar and
click Hide Spelling Errors. This setting is document-specific (it can also be accomplished by checking the box for "Hide spelling errors in this document" on the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options). If you are sending the document and suspect that the recipient may have "Check grammar as you type" enabled (even if you don't), you may also want to check "Hide grammar errors in this document." This setting still permits explicit spelling/grammar checking using F7. If you want to eliminate that as well, Ctrl+A to select all the text in the document and go to Tools | Language | Set Language and check "Do not check spelling or grammar." If the issue is with certain types of text for which spell checking is not appropriate (mathematical formulas and the like), you have (at least) two options: 1. Just checking "Ignore words with numbers" on the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options will take care of most math issues. 2. You can define a character style that is Default Paragraph Font + Do not check spelling or grammar. Apply this to words you don't want check, while leaving spell checking intact in the remainder of the document. -- Suzanne S.
