Default Page Number displays as 0

The Page number displays as 0 on every single page for a word doc created in
Ms Word 2003 but opened using Ms Word 2002.
- User unable to upgrade to Ms Word 2003 because user is using certain
applications that needs Ms Word 2002, thus upgrading is out of the question.
- Any work around to this problem?
