Hi, I want to know how can I write the real line symbol in microsofot word.
It's a capital R with two vertical lines like (IR) but the lines are conected
together. I use microsoft word 2003 with math type but the symbol doesn't
exit and I need to write it in my paper.
Thanks, bye.

Insert the symbol from a Unicode font, such as Arial Unicode MS or Lucida
Sans Unicode.
The hexadecimal character code is 211D (which means that you can type 211D
and then press Alt+X to insert it).

Thank you very much. This is very nice but I need the double line to be only
on the verticale line. It should looks like (IR). Do you know how to do this?

Thanks again for your answer, bye.

Have you tried looking for the symbol in the Insert | Symbol dialog box?

The character codes are listed in the Symbol dialog box; I just had to
locate the symbol I suggested. Remember to look not only in the current
font, but in symbol fonts such as Wingdings or Symbol.

Unfortunately not. But if you just want a simple R with a line above and
below it, you can use the following EQ field: { EQ \x \to \bo (R) }. Select
the code (not the delimiters), paste into your document, select it, and
press Ctrl+F9 to create the field delimiters. Press F9. Use Alt+F9 to
show/hide field codes, if necessary.

Hi,

Thank you for your help, but the code you put is not useful to me. Anyway, I
found a very approximate shape to what I want. In the Math Equation box I
wrote the letters I and R together and from style I used the 'FrankRuehl' one
with size 12. This gave me a very close shape to what I wanted.

Thanks again.
