Default How to unlink Word 2003 documents

I Saved As a new Word document from another and gave it a new title. Now,
everything I enter in the new document is copied in the old one, even though
the old document is closed. I Saved the new doc to a flash drive and both
docs showed up. Also, attaching to an email, the doc can't be opened by the
recipient and shows only a fraction of the file size.
Thanks for your help.

The best I can tell you is to *never* save to or open from removable media
of any type. Always save to your hard drive, then move/copy to the removable
media after closing the file - move/copy back to the hard drive & use that
copy for further editing.

As far as getting the 2 "untangled" - I'm honestly not sure & don't think
you can. The new file is obviously corrupted. I'd try just deleting any
copies of the new file, opening the original & doing a Save As to the HD (as
long as the original is "problem free"). If the original has problems, copy
all but the last ¶, paste into a new blank doc & save with a different name,
then delete the original.
