Default Word 2007 Fix for 255 Character Limit

Is there a fix for Word 2007 255 character limit (mail merge Excel 2007 to
Word 2007 document).

I cannot split the Excel field (the field is a comment field and is
sometimes, not always, over 255 characters); I have checked the Word advanced
option box "confirm file format conversion on open" afterwhich I closed and
re-opened Word.

The comment field is still truncating at 255 characters.

Thanks -- Suz

You need to make sure that the (to be sure) first record in your data source
contains more than 255 characters as otherwise, field may not be recognised
as being of the type that does contain more than that number of characters.

The field type is determined by consideration of the first half dozen or so
records, but to be sure, it is best to make sure that the first one is such
that the correct type will be taken into account.
