MS Word 2007-No Blank Doc
When I open a doc in Word 2007 and then close it the Word program closes
down. How do I get it to keep a blank Word doc open in the same way that Excel always keeps a blank XLS document open when I close the worksheets that I am using. Excel will automatically generate a blank sheet so that Excel will stay open unless I specifically close it. Word does not do this. It closes the program after I close the last Word doc i am using. It will not automatically stay open with a blank Word doc. How dO I get Word to stay open with an automatically created blank Word doc after I close all the docs that I created? |

MS Word 2007-No Blank Doc
That will keep Word open, but not with a blank document. In all versions of
Word, I type a single space into Document1 when I first fire it up. That keeps a blank document open all day long for me to use as a scratchpad. -- Suzanne S. MS Word 2007-No Blank Doc
Jay:
When I enter Ctrl+W and then Ctrl+F4 and then I click the Office button in the upper left hand corner the "Close" option appears as being inactivated so I cannot continue with your instructions. Jay intended Ctrl+W, Ctrl+F4, and Office Button | Close to be alternative
ways of accomplishing the same thing. Any one of them will suffice. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Portocar" wrote in message ... To me, the best alternative is to add the Close button to the QAT. I'm used
to having it on my toolbar, so that was a no-brainer for me. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Portocar" wrote in message ... Thanks, Jay! Adding the Close command to the QAT works great for me and my
