Default Word is extremely slow

I've recently experienced a problem with Word. When I launch Word is
extremely slow, it is extremely slow when opening a file, even a small file,
and using Word as my email editor in Outlook it takes 20 seconds to open the
editor for composing a new email.

I have 2GB memory so it's not a resource issue. I've removed and
reinstalled Office 2003 after wiping the regedit files and still no help.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop, left-click on
Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped drives that are not
currently available. Disable your AV software's Office plug-in.
