I am after knowing what tips and tricks you might use in Word to help simplify / speed you up? I was reading a thread on here and someone suggested holding alt and clicking the mouse to bring up reference. I thought that was a pretty neat trick so was wondering if there were other gems i was missing out on.

You can also assign or reassign keyboard shortcuts for any command in
Word instead of grabbing for the mouse. Many shortcuts require
striking three keys -- you can change the shortcuts you use most often
to one or two keys that are not an awkward stretch for your fingers.
There are hundreds of commands that have no pre-assigned shortcut.
For example, you don't need to click your way to the Templates dialog
box. You can assign a keyboard shortcut to the FileNewDialog command
and bring that up with a couple of keystrokes. You don't mention your
version of Word or how you use Word, so it's difficult to be specific
about shortcuts that would benefit you.

You can run the ListCommand macro to produce a document listing all
commands in Word. One way to get to this macro in all versions of
Word is to press Alt + F8 to open the macro dialog box. Select Word
Commands from the Macros In drop-down list. Type ListCommands (note
no spaces) in the Macro Name box or scroll down and single-click on
ListCommands. Click the Run button and follow the screen prompts. A
Word document containing all built-in commands appears in a table
format for saving or printing. This table can also be sorted to
easily locate commands and shortcuts.
