It can be converted to pdf provided you have the full version of Acrobat or
one of the various other PDF writing tools. It cannot be converted to Word
doc.

No, a .pub (Publisher file) cannot be converted to a Word doc. You can save
it as an .rtf but then you lose your graphics and your formatting. Kind of
defeats the purpose of using Publisher in the first place.
