Paragraphs
I am running Word 2002 on Win XP Home edition with SP2.
I am writing very long documents which consist of a hear below which is text relating the that header. They are sometimes 200 pages or more long. When I return to edit these documents some (not all) of the paragraphs have separated from their headers. There is often 10 or more blank lines that have appeared between the header and its appropriate text. Is there any way on insuring that the header stays with its relevant text. You need to make sure that the heading paragraph format is set to 'keep with
next', and the ordinary paragraphs are not. The best way to do this is using styles, and you will find that the built-in headings (Heading 1 etc.) are set to keep with next and Body Text style is not. A common error is to reformat the font of a heading to make it look like ordinary paragraph, and vice versa, instead of applying the right style. Note that you also need to avoid using blank lines between paragraphs - set the space after correctly. -- Margaret Aldis - Microsoft Word MVP Syntagma partnership site: http://www.syntagma.co.uk Word MVP FAQ site: http://www.word.mvps.org "geoffatmhg" wrote in message ...
