Repair Section Head Numbering...
I am creating a document that require number section heads.
I began by cutting and pasting from several documents that did not employ numbered section heads. How can I can get Word to auto-generate the correct corresponding sections head as I cut-n-paste from other source documents? e.g. 2.0 New Head, followed by 2.1 Sub-section head and so on. -- saXso |

Repair Section Head Numbering...
Set up numbering attached to styles as explained at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html. If you are using Word 2007, you can click Multilevel List (on the Home ribbon), then click Define New Multilevel List, which opens a dialog box similar to the Customize Outline Numbered List dialog box of previous versions (this dialog box is discussed at the above link). For more stability, you may want to create a list style (Multilevel List | Define New List Style), and then link its numbering levels to paragraph styles. When numbering has been properly defined, apply the appropriate style to each paragraph that should be numbered. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "saxso" wrote in message ...
