Default Form Drop-Down Boxes

I created a couple of forms in Word 2000. Now we have upgraded to 2003. The
drop-down boxes no longer work. When a user clicks on them, the programmer
dialog box comes up (add, remove, activate, etc .), not just the list of
available choices. I've tried turning on and off the various protections
under tools and the form itself but nothing seems to work. Activating a
drop-down box should be an easy procedure.

Hi ?B?RGlhbm5h?=,

This isn't ringing any bells...

Are these dropdowns from the Forms or from the Controls Toolbox toolbar?

Can you please describe the "programmer dialog box" in more detail? I'm not
recognizing what you mean by that. Add, remove, activate WHAT? What's the title
across the top of this dialog box?

Please also describe the steps you've taken to try to protect the document. In
Word 2003 the only thing under "Tools" displays the Protection task pane. Is
that happening on your installation? If yes, please list the steps you've tried
in the Task Pane.

Default Form Drop-Down Boxes

Thanks, Cindy, for your response. The "programmer" box is entitled
"Drop-Down Form Field Options." Since I had a limited number of drop-downs
with a limited number of choices, it was just easier for me to delete and
re-insert the drop-downs instead of trying to figure out why the drop-downs
did not work when converting from Office 2000 to 2003.

Hi Dianna

Thanks for letting me know that this worked. Apparently, the internal file
structures of the Word form were damaged at some point if this solved the
problem. Hadn't ever heard of this happening, before, in quite this way.
