Default note pad docs losing size upon reopening

Why does a doc that I have created in rich text in note pad from ather small
docs that I have saved before keep diminishing in size from 63kb to say 11kb
after closing then reopening some time later?? Im using windows XP Thanks

Well, notepad supports only plain text, you can't create rich text in it. So if
you're copying in rich text, all that is going to be lost, and thus the file
size will reduce.

Note, please, that this newsgroup is for questions about Microsoft Word. Not
Notepad, and not WordPad (I'm guessing that's what you really meant :-)).
