How do I configure Word to not default to the markup view? Even though I
deselect "markup" from the view menu, the change isn't saved. |

Hi Cynthia
In Word 2003, the default is to show tracked changes when you open a document. This is a security measure. You can disable the security at Tools Options Security. If this were amazon.com, this information would come with text such as "People who bought this idea also bought 'How to remove the battery from your smoke alarm' and 'How to cut the brake cable in your car with tools from your kitchen' "g. Hope this helps. Shauna Kelly. Microsoft MVP. http://www.shaunakelly.com/word "Cynthia" wrote in message ... How do I configure Word to not default to the markup view?
