formatting text in cell
This should be ez. I have a simple table within a document. No matter what I
do I can't get the text to change position within the cell. i.e. I want it to be centered horizontally in the cell and it won't budget from being centered at the top. What the heck is going on? -- I'm teaching low income adults computer skills to get better jobs |

Bit hard to teach them if you don't have the skills yourself. Display the

The usual cause of what you're describing is extra spacing following a
paragraph mark. With the cursor in the cell in question, choose Format - Paragraph from the menu, and ensure that Spacing Before and After are both set to the same numbers. If that doesn't do the trick, then select the cell and choose Table - Table Properties from the menu; click on the Cell tab.
