Default WordPad paragraph spacing - Setting to zero

When I paste into WordPad text "copied" from another source (e.g. from Word
or from a webpage) this often sets WordPad to paragraph format -- i.e. a
space is automatically inserted before/after each paragraph (each hit of
Enter).

How do I set WordPad paragraph spacing back to zero? (I know that I can
format the text in Word and then re-paste it in WordPad, but I would like to
set the paragraph spacing to zero WITHIN WORDPAD, if that is possible.)

THANK YOU!
