Default HOW DO I CREATE A DOCUMENT WITH TABS. I NEED TO TYPE AT STOPS AN.

I have created a document and I would like to tab to each field and fill in
text. When I go to fill in text, it adds to the line, therefore, spaces the
remainder of that line down to the next line and so on. Can you please tell
me how to fill in text without any of the original text moving or spacing?

Thank you.
