Default WORD 2003 MOUSE/FORMATTING ISSUES! HELP!

Since I was forced to reinstall my Offce 2003 program due to other issues
that have since been resolved, I have had some odd things taking place with
my mouse and WORD. I am unable use my mouse for formatting in WORD ( and
Outlook for that matter), for example I would like to use my mouse to click
and highlight a word. I am unable to do this I have to use my keyboard. Or
I would like to change something in my header or footer, I have to use the
keyboard to do that. I can use my mouse to click on any icon in the
toolbars. I have run the "help, detect and repair", I have gone to get the
updates to make sure I have the latest and greatest. I have unistalled my
mouse driver and reinstalled......still nothing changes.

Please help!!!!
