my kid, screwed up everything. when we try to center it doesnt center in the

Possibly you are in Normal, Web Layout, or Outline view instead of Print
Layout?

First: FIX your KID

Second: Check Page Setup for Margins and Paper Size
FormatParagraph - check Left/Right Indents
Centred means centred between L (first line) & R Indents
If L & R Indents are 0, then centred between Margins
