How do I create a style with the text "NOTE:" at the begining?
I want to create a style that has NOTE: at the beginning. When I apply this
style I only want to add the text for the note. I was able to do this in Office 2003 but I cannot find where in Office 2007 I can create this style. Thoughts? |

Use the Format Number facility to format the numbering of your style so that
it has the word NOTE: preceding the number, which you actually delete from the style. -- Hope this helps. Unfortunately this doesn't work in Word 2007 - see
http://www.gmayor.com/Text_as_bullet.htm . Word 2007 does not allow you to save a number format with leading text unless you also add a number. So you could have NOTE: 1 or NOTE: A but not NOTE: -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org jforsyth12 wrote: I want to create a style that has NOTE: at the beginning. a simple list. Am I crazy? -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Graham Mayor" wrote in message ... I have experienced too that you can make it with a multilevel list (and I
just made a NOTE style again to make sure...). -- Regards Lene Fredborg - Microsoft MVP (Word) DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "Suzanne S. Hmmm. Back to the drawing board (
It appears that you can do it with a multilevel list but not a simple list. MS has been pushing us toward "outline" or "multilevel" lists for some time,
at least to accomplish anything useful. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Graham Mayor" wrote in message ... Hmmm. How do I create a style with the text "NOTE:" at the begining?
Thanks, for the confirmation, Stefan and Lene. I thought I remembered
figuring this out when I was updating http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/QandA.htm, but I've just looked at that article and realized that it has not been updated, so I guess that's another thing to add to my very long list of To Dos! -- Suzanne S.
