Default Where is help on working with columns of text in Word?

I'm used to Word Perfect, where you can choose different types of columns:
newspaper, block protect, etc. Can't find any help anywhere on how to work
with columns of text in WORD. Is it possible to do so? I can't make them
do what I want. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Word only has newspaper columns. If you want "parallel columns" you'll
have to use a table (without borders). See
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/UsingColumns.htm.
