Default Templates Tab Location

Is there a way you can add a personally developed template to the various
tabs of the template area, that is, add a template to Letters and faxes tab,
or the mail merge tab, anywhere but the general tab?

Personal templates are stored in the folder defined at tools options
file locations user templates and sub folders of that folder.

If you want your templates to join standard templates under their own tabs,
then create sub folders of that folder with the same names as the tabs or
create your own personally named sub folders. The tabs will only appear if
the folders contain templates.

In the user templates folder (as listed in ToolsOptionsFile
Locations), create a folder with the same name as that of an existing
template category (= tab in the FileNew dialog box), put your custom
template in it, and you'll see it together with the built-in templates
the next time you start Word.

Yes. Put your template in a folder in your user templates folder. Give that
internal folder the same name as the tab, i.e., "Letters & Faxes." For more
on the different kinds of templates, tabs on the file new dialog, and
locations of templates folders see
