Default Forms and Add-ins

I recently created a form at work using microsoft 2000. However the document
(which includes fields, drop down menus and check mark boxes) needs to be
able to be edited as I go along. But when I unlock the document, make the
changes and relock the document to continue going, microsoft automatically
resets my form and i lose any inputted data. While trying to troubleshoot, I
learned that only microsoft 2002 and up have fixed the glitch that is causing
me so much stress lol.. I found a site on the internet that provided a code
they said could be inputted as an "add-in" which they say will override
microsofts rule about resetting any form that has been unlocked and relocked
again. But I'm not sure how to install the add-in. If anybody has any
suggestions or knows how to install add-ins i'd be open for any ideas. I just
need to be able to edit my document halfway through without losing everything
that has already been done.

Thanks a lot!!
