If your 50 documents consistently use styles for formatting and those styles
are in your new template, you can attach the template and have it update the styles. Better, though, is to create a new document based on your template and copy and paste the contents of the old document into the new one. I understand that the next version of Word will have something like a .css stylesheet. A template handles the formatting of a new document based on the template. For an existing document, it can change the styles but not margins or standard text. Tools Templates and Add-Ins...
After you attach the template and are back in your document, go back in and uncheck the box to update styles. (This is not a good option to leave checked, and it is set for each document separately.) -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
