Default Advance codes

Word 2003/XP

If I want to start text approx 2.5 inches from the top of my page - how do I
decipher the measurement in inches? I looked in "help" and it said to use
points - I don't know how to use points.

72 points = 1 inch. But I would not use an ADVANCE field to do this.

And the reason you are not setting a top margin or using a header is?

While the Advance field can be useful. There are far better tools to
accomplish what you want to do.
