Ctrl-h is the keyboard shortcut for "Find and Replace."

Hi,
is it possible to have a list of symbols you did not tell which version of Word is used. But nearly each version offers a command like "Insert | Symbol". -- Cheers, Lisa |

Sometimes I notice a symbol on my document and I would like to replace it, but I don't know the name of it |

Ctr-Shift-Space types a "non-breaking space," and its "hidden characters"
symbol is a raised circle, a degree sign. Its symbol in Find-Replace is ^s (but you don't need to know that, because when you go to Find-Replace, Ctrl-h, and click "More," and then click "Special" at the bottom, you can choose your special item by its name. The symbol for it is then placed in the "Find" box (or the "Replace With" box). (You can probably find the list of those symbols somewhere in Word Help, but finding something in Word Help is not easy.) In languages that space before punctuation, such as French, Word automatically inserts a non-breaking space before the punctuation. Hi,
I know that there is a menu in order to inser a symbol, but in this case this is a symbol in order to show a page layout only. "Insert | Symbol" will offer a tab with special (not printable) symbols like "Em Dash", "En Dash", Nonbreaking Hyphen. -- Cheers, Lisa |
