Default change white heading font to black in style pane

My Heading 1 is a white font and I want it to be black (auto) in the
style pane so it can be seen. How do I do this?

I don't believe you can. If the heading is going to be used against a very
dark background, then you can probably leave the font color as Auto, and
Word will automatically switch it to white on a dark background.

In some versions of Word, you can choose whether to view font names in their
font, and if you have this disabled, then styles will also be displayed
without formatting in the classic Styles dropdown (this does not, however,
affect the display in the Styles pane).

Hi Susan,

I found the answer I was looking for so I deleted my message. But what
I did was change the font color to white using the color wheel in word
instead of selecting the little white square in Theme Colors. That
made it show up black or Auto in the Style Pane and that is what I was
missing.

Thanks for your reply!
