Default !Undefined Bookmark in Word Form

I am unable to figure out why I get this message on my template and my
document from template in all my formula fields before I tab through.

The formula is RoomRate*NightsStay. Once I tab to the formula the message
disappears.
The Bookmark for this formula is TotalCost and it is also used in another
formula field calculating the Tax + TotalCost. The formula works so I guess
the bookmark is OK.
RoomRate is also used in another formula field to calculate the cancellation
fee.
All 3 fields display the above message until I tab through then the results
replace the message. When I check bookmarks, all three are named bookmarks in
the "Go To" list. So I assume they are bookmarked, although the bookmark is
not part of the formula field. Should it be?
This is my first form so any help would be greatly appreciated. Already got
help on another issue. So thanks.

Let's see if I'm understanding this correctly. If the formula is
RoomRate*NightsStay and it works in the end, then those two "variables" have
to be bookmarked. Have you tried setting the default value for those two
form fields to 0.00 and 0, respectively? If there is no value to begin with,
I can see how there would be an error until you fill in the amounts.

Thank you very much! That was exactly the problem. I had a series of
underscore lines as default and once I removed them so that the first value
showed up, boom all the messages disappeared.
Much appreciated
