Default Appearance of Fonts in Word 2007

Why does Helvetic 55 Roman and Helvetic 45 Light look strange in Word 2007?

I have checked my Display Settings and I am not in Windows Safe Mode, I have
switched off 'Always Use ClearType' and 'Otimise Character Positioning' in
Word Options and neither has improved the screen display.

If the problem is with those particular fonts, only, they could be corrupt.
Try reinstalling them in Windows.
