Default link a word to a paragraph in another word document

I would like to know how to link a "hot" word in one open word document to a
paragraph etc in another word document. I want to able to click on the
"hot"word and then be taken to another batch of text in the other document.
I am using Woord 2003.

Default link a word to a paragraph in another word document

Insert a bookmark at the text you want to go to, and save that
document.

Now go to the document where you want the "hot" word. Click Insert
Hyperlink. In that dialog, click the big Recent Documents button and
choose the document to go to. Now click the Bookmark button to the
right of the file list, and choose the name of the bookmark to go to.
Finally, type the "hot" word in the "Text to display" box at the top
and click OK.

When you click the link, Word will always pop up a nuisance message
warning you that clicking hyperlinks can be dangerous. There's no way
to get rid of that message.

Thank you so much for the detailed info! I randomly signed in found the info I needed and now my boss and I both think i'm a genius!
