Default Making shape inaccessible to screen readers

Hello

If I want to make a shape inaccessible to screen readers, is it enough to simply not give it any Alt Text?

The scenario is that I have an image with about 6 captions highlighting different aspects. I just want to put a complete description in the Alt Text for the image. And I don't want screen reader users to have to navigate past a load of null descriptions for the captions.

Using Word 2007

Thank you
