Default How do I make footers continue beyond the first page?

I can't seem to understand how to create a footer but not have it appear on
the first two pages of my document. I want the footer to start on the 3rd
page and numbering to begin at 1.

Can anyone help?

Insert a section break after the second page. Headers/footers can be set
independently for the different sections (don't forget to uncheck the link
to the previous section check box)

Alternatively, if you are trying to create a title page, you may want
to insert an Odd Page section break on your first page.

Once you have a second section, you can proceed as follows: On the
View menu, click Header and Footer to show the header/footer area. Use
the Insert Page Number button on the Header/Footer toolbar to insert
page numbers as required. And use the Format Page Number button to set
numbering of the second section to start at 1.

Be sure to format the document with "Mirror margins" (in FilePage
Setup, Margins tab); otherwise Word might look at the page number
(restarted to 1) in the second section, and decide it doesn't need to
insert the second blank page because the second section already starts
on an odd page, as determined by the odd page number(!).
