Default Word 2007 compatibiltiy mode does not stick on network installs

Does anyone know of a workaround and/or if this bug is going to be/has been
fixed? In Word 2007 - Word Options - Save - Save File in this Format. When
the netwwrok computer is re-started the save as 97-2003 doc format reverts
back to docx. Word appears to be the only app that does this? Excel & PP
stick fine. Seems to stick on stand alone computer not connected to a
network? Not sure if that is entirely true?

Thanks
John
