My guess is that you have Acrobat 7 installed. It interferes with Word's
ability to save changes to the normal.dot template. You can save macros and toolbars in a different global template. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. Otherwise, if you hold the Shift key down when clicking on the File Menu, you'll get a Save All command. You can use this to save the normal.dot template. Thank you Charles/Suzanne: This sounds like a real possibility. Will pass
along your advice to our organization's help desk. They have been puzzling over it too. We do know it is not a problem on everyone's PC here, just a few. So your response makes sense.
