Default Savings Macros and Changes to Toolbar

In Word 2003, new macros are lost when program closes, as are modifications
to the toolbar. Help.

My guess is that you have Acrobat 7 installed. It interferes with Word's
ability to save changes to the normal.dot template. You can save macros and
toolbars in a different global template. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.

Otherwise, if you hold the Shift key down when clicking on the File Menu,
you'll get a Save All command. You can use this to save the normal.dot
template. See Graham Mayor's page on getting rid of the PDFMaker toolbar for
other suggestions.

Thank you Charles/Suzanne: This sounds like a real possibility. Will pass
along your advice to our organization's help desk. They have been puzzling
over it too. We do know it is not a problem on everyone's PC here, just a
few. So your response makes sense.
