Default How do I delete a Heading style I created?

Actually I didn't create them but someone at my company did, since at least
one has a custom name: "1.1.1 Heading 8,3 level".
The normal.dot only has three heading styles. My document has nine. So why
can't I delete headings 4 - 9?

I have Word 2002 SP3 on a PC with Windows XP.

Thanks for all your help!

You can't delete Heading 8, but you can rename it back to just Heading 8
(using Modify Style), and you can suppress display of it by selecting Custom
in the Styles and Formatting task pane, then deselecting Heading 8 as an
"Available" style.
